Your Questions, Answered With Care
We know starting therapy comes with a lot of questions. Here’s what to expect.
Do you accept insurance?
Beginning in 2026, we will begin accepting insurance to support greater access to care. A full list of accepted plans will be added to this page as soon as they are confirmed.
In the meantime, we offer two options:
1. Sliding scale fees through our equity-based model
2. Superbills for those with out-of-network (PPO) benefits
We’re happy to walk you through these options to find what’s possible for you.
What’s your payment process?
All payments are processed securely through our Simple Practice client portal. At this time, we accept credit, HSA, or debit cards only. Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged.
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a written estimate of the cost of services. This estimate reflects the agreed-upon frequency and fee and can be requested at any point in your care.
Treatment is unique for each person, and how long you stay in therapy is always up to you. We’ll talk together about your goals, preferences, and needs—no surprises.
Why offer therapy without insurance—for now?
We’re deeply committed to affirming and decolonial care—care that resists systems of oppression, rejects pathologizing, and centers your lived experience. Until now, we’ve chosen not to participate in insurance plans that require diagnosis and impose limits on care.
This choice has helped us honor the autonomy of our clients, especially those from systemically marginalized communities. As the healthcare landscape shifts, we’re preparing to offer both in-network coverage and maintain our equity based sliding scale to uphold both accessibility and integrity in care.
Can I use my out-of-network benefits?
Yes! If you have a PPO plan, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement. We provide superbills (detailed receipts) you can submit to your insurance.
Need help understanding your benefits? Use our Insurance Guide to get started or reach out and we’ll walk through it together.

Does my location matter?
Yes! Our therapists are licensed to practice in specific states, so where you live helps us match you with the right provider. We’re currently licensed in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey.
If you live outside these states, don’t worry—reach out to us anyway. We’d be happy to help you find a therapist who meets your needs, wherever you are.
